Tip #1 to Get Your First Email Subscriber – Build a FREE Landing Page on ConvertKit
I absolutely love landing pages! What makes landing pages so cool is that you don’t need a website to start your email list when you build a landing page. A landing page is a stand alone webpage created specifically for a marketing or advertising campaign. It’s quick and easy to make one. People go to your landing page and then sign up for your list. I personally use ConvertKit because it is the ultimate landing page builder. ConvertKit has so many great templates you can choose from depending on whether you want to just get people on your email list or even if you want to get people to purchase your first e-book. The options are endless. To join ConvertKit for free, click this link right here.
The best thing about ConvertKit is that it’s FREE! You can sign up for their free plan and then upgrade later. With the free plan, you can manage up to 1,000 subscribers. You also get to manage unlimited landing pages and forms. You can send email broadcasts, sell digital products and subscriptions, and get email support. I use the paid plan because this plan allows me to do automated funnels and sequences. I don’t have to send out emails every time, they go out on their own once I write them. ConvertKit is a game changer and you can sign up here to build your landing page and get subscribers.
Tip #2 to Get Your First Email Subscriber – Start a Website Using Bluehost
Some think you should build your website before you building your landing page to start getting subscribers. But I think its good that if you don’t have a website, that you build your landing page first. This will allow you to start collecting emails. The next step would then to get a website. Ultimately, you want to build a website so people can go there to read your blog. They can also learn more about you, contact you, and get a better sense of your brand.
I started this website using Bluehost and I’m not a techie! I’m a mom and just knew I wanted to start a website. Bluehost made it so easy to sign up and they have great deals. Right now, you can sign up on their basic plan for $2.95 a month for either their 12, 24, or 36 month plan. That means if you just want to get a plan for a year, it would only cost $35.40! Plus, you get a free domain name and SSL which provides security for your website over the computer network. It would normally cost $8.99 a month so that is definitely a deal! You can sign up for Bluehost and get in on this deal before the price goes up right here.
I also talked about Bluehost in my blog post the 4 Best Blogging Tools for Mommy Bloggers. My favorite part about Bluehost is their customer service. I can’t tell you how many times I have called them at midnight or even 2am in the morning. As I mentioned before, I do a lot of my writing at night when my three boys are asleep so its perfect that Bluehost customer service is available at that time. Tip #4 to Get Your First Email Subscriber – Sign Up for Pinterest and Start Pinning
I think a lot of people underestimate Pinterest, but trust me there is definitely power in this search engine tool. Many people think its a social media platform, but the real power of Pinterest is how people use the tool to get inspiration and plan what they need to enrich their lives. That’s why its imperative to sign up for Pinterest and start pinning!
I enjoy Pinterest because its a great and FREE tool to use to get your blog posts seen, get people to discover what you write about, and get a sense of your brand. When you sign up for Pinterest to pin for your blog, you should sign up for a business account. Then to put it simply, you create a pin with an image. The image represents your blog post or even your landing page. Once a Pinterest user clicks on your pin, they go to your blog post or landing page. From there, they discover your blog post and can read more about you. If they clicked on your landing page, they will click on the page and then can sign up for your email list and become an email subscriber. You can pin manually or even schedule your pins on Pinterest. Read on for our last tip of the 5 tips to get your first email subscriber.
