I say that while also talking about myself. Lately, who knows why I have found it hard to find motivation to write my blog. I love writing, I love blogging, and I love posting my blog posts so that other moms can learn from them and make money blogging.

But you know what? Life happens and especially as mommy bloggers, sometimes its hard to find time for ourselves. But I’ve found that you must find that time and when you do, use it to do what you love. So, here are some tips to help you stay motivated as a mommy blogger.

How to Stay Motivated as a Mommy Blogger Tip #1 – Don’t Just Figure Out Your Why, Figure Out Your Who

A lot of times you will hear other bloggers say you need to remember when you blog. By your why, they mean why are you blogging and what is your ultimate goal. I disagree with this because it’s not just about you, but it’s about who are you blogging for?

In other words, are you blogging to have a better life for you and your family? Are you blogging because you want to become more self-confident in yourself and to finally chase after your goals and dreams? Or did you start blogging this year for other people because you want to help moms like yourself?

I think that concentrating on not only your why, but your who will help you to stay motivated as a mommy blogger because you’re not thinking about yourself. You’re thinking about others and how that can be a bigger reason many times to accomplish something.

For instance, I am motivated by my family. When I look into the eyes of my boys, I want to create something they will be proud of. I want to show them they can make their dreams happen. It’s also to show them you can be your own boss and become an entrepreneur.

You can control your own destiny and not have someone else control it for you. Thinking of this is what helps me to stay motivated because I am thinking about others and that is more than enough motivation to keep me going.

How to Stay Motivated as a Mommy Blogger Tip #2 – Celebrate Your Wins, Even If They’re Small

This is a big tip that will help you stay motivated as a mommy blogger. It’s important that you keep track of all of your accomplishments or wins as I like to call them and celebrate each and every one of them. You do this by making a list of tasks you want to complete every day and praising yourself when the tasks are completed.

At night, I type a list in my phone before I go to bed of everything I want to tackle with my blog the next day. Throughout the next day, I mark off each task that I have completed. The task could be something simple like edit one my blog post on SEO. Or it could take more time like compose my emails to my email subscribers using ConvertKit.

By making a list and keeping track of your wins, you’ll see that what seems overwhelming, is actually possible. You can do it by accomplishing each task one at a time. You’ll stay motivated because you’ll see that you are making progress. That progress is what will lead you to being able to blog full-time. You’ll also make money so you can spend more time with your loved ones.

How to Stay Motivated as a Mommy Blogger Tip #3 – Turn Off the Noise and Beat Imposter Syndrome for Good

Imposter syndrome is serious. It’s so serious that it kept me from starting my blog I would say for about a year. If you aren’t familiar with imposter syndrome, it’s where you believe you’re not good enough to do something. You think that you’re an imposter for trying to do what others have already done successfully.

I’m warning you about imposter syndrome because it stopped me in my tracks and paralyzed me from doing anything. Due to imposter syndrome, it took me a year to decide to start my website and my blog name.

All I did was look at what everyone else was doing and wonder if what I did, would be good enough. I was so overcome by imposter syndrome that I didn’t do anything out of fear and thinking what did I know about blogging or who was I to start a blog to help moms?

I tell you my story because if you let imposter syndrome take over your life, you will never be able to accomplish anything. That’s the hard truth. But you can beat imposter syndrome by turning off the noise or in other words not focusing on anyone else’s blog, but your own.

This means not obsessing over what someone else is doing or constantly checking someone else’s Pinterest profile or Instagram profile or website. Worry about what you are creating and what you are going to do to achieve your goals. I know that’s hard to do, but doing anything else takes your eye off the prize.

You can’t spend all day thinking about what someone else is doing or you’ll be going down a rabbit hole. You are starting a blog to change your life, to go after your dreams, and to help support your family.

By not concentrating on your blog, you are wasting too much time and energy. Imposter syndrome is beatable, but you have to focus on what you have set out to accomplish and not letting anything hold you back from succeeding at your blog.
