If you’re a mommy blogger and have started your blog, congrats! Now, you need to know the 3 top email marketing tips for mommy bloggers! I know it’s a huge deal and something that you have been working hard for. Once you get your blog started, it’s time to start building your community. That community grows by you reaching out to your tribe and letting them know that you are here to help them and also offer some tips, resources, and even some products to help solve their problem. So, here are the top 3 email marketing tips for mommy bloggers to help you grow your blog.
Tip #1 -Understand Your Audience or Your Tribe
First, you want to make sure that you understand your audience before you start sending out emails to them. What do they want, what do they need, who are you trying to serve, and why? These are all questions that will help you to reach out to your community and help solve some of their problems.
Are you trying to reach out to other moms like yourself or are you trying to reach out to millennials? What are you trying to reach out to them about? For instance, are you a food blogger and what to blog about different recipes and dinner ideas? Or do you focus on mental health and want to send out words of encouragement to your followers.
By knowing what you are trying to convey to your audience, that will help you to better communicate with them. They want to interact with someone that knows what their going through or understands that struggle. You can be that person, but you have to first understand what that struggle is for your audience.
Tip #2 – Set Communication Goals for Your Emails and Stick to Them
By communication goals I mean, when you are going to reach out to them and how often? Many people like to know when things are going to happen and when they can expect for things to happen. In other words, if you’re a busy mom like we all are, figure out what you can do and stick to timetable. If you know you can only reach out to your tribe once a week, then do that. If it’s more like once a month, then follow through on that to help you with your email marketing goals.
I think more often than not it comes down to trust. If you say you’re going to email once a week, then you need to show up once a week even if it is a short email. Your audience will understand that things happen, but they won’t understand why you let them down. If you can’t show up when you said you would, just be honest and tell your audience why.
For instance, the last several weeks of last year were for very busy and stressful especially with it being during the pandemic. I wasn’t able to show up like I wanted to, but I let my tribe know what I had been going through and why. By being honest with them, they will come to respect you and will probably sympathize with what you’re going to. It’s also easy to lose motivation and try to figure out why you’re doing what you’re doing. Just be upfront and tell your community what’s going on. Tip #3 – Don’t Be Afraid of Selling and Providing Value to Others
I know that some people say that selling is a bad word, but what it really means is that you’re providing value to others. Think about how you can help people with your digital products, with your services, or with your courses. You can change someone’s life and help them to reach their goals and dreams. But to do that, people will need to invest in themselves and invest in you by buying what you offer. Now, does selling seem bad?
It’s not just that you can provide the information that they need to solve the problem, but also that you are getting paid for providing that type of value. If your children are in daycare and you have teachers that take care of them, nurture them, and help them to grow, isn’t it worth it to pay the daycare to help your kids learn and grow?
It’s so worth it when you see that your child has learned something new, that they have solved a problem that someone taught them how to do, and they become confident and independent. If that’s true, then why shouldn’t someone pay you to provide some type of value to them so they can also learn and grow and even make money doing something that you taught them.
I know it can be hard sometimes to believe this, but yes people want to pay you for your knowledge. Don’t be afraid then to offer your products and services in your emails and market them. By being moms, sometimes we have been taught that we’re not worthy of making money for what we’re going at or our talents.
Yes, you do deserve it and it’s okay to get paid for your knowledge. You’re a mom, but you are also a teacher that can help provide solutions for people’s problems. I wrote a blog article about this and how you can blog and still be a mom.
